Terms of service

The terms,
in plain words.

What you can expect from us, and what we ask of you, when you order mastering from Planet Hum Mastering.

Last updated: October 23, 2026

1. About these terms

Planet Hum Mastering is run by Planet Hum Music Group, Stockholm, Sweden ("we", "us"). These terms apply to every order for mastering and related services placed through this website or by email. By placing an order, you agree to them.

2. Services & prices

  • Our services and prices are listed on the pricing page. All prices are in US dollars (USD).
  • EP and album projects, and anything outside the listed services, are quoted individually.
  • The price that applies is the one shown, or quoted, when you place your order. We may change our prices for future orders at any time.

3. Ordering & payment

  • Your order is confirmed when we reply to accept it. Payment is due before work starts, unless we've agreed other terms in writing (for example, invoicing for labels).
  • We may decline an order — for example, if the files are unsuitable or we don't have capacity. If we decline after you've paid, you get a full refund.

4. Your files

  • Please prepare your files as described in our mix preparation guide. If files are missing, damaged or unsuitable, we'll let you know, and the turnaround starts once we have what we need.
  • By sending us audio, you confirm that you own it or have the permission of everyone who does — including for any samples — and that we may process it to carry out your order.
  • We won't work on material we believe is unlawful or infringes someone else's rights.

5. Turnaround

Masters are normally delivered within 48 hours of receiving all your files and notes, Monday to Friday. Files that arrive on a Friday are delivered on Monday or Tuesday. EP and album timelines are agreed per project. Turnaround times are our normal target, not a guarantee; if something will delay your order, we'll tell you as soon as we know.

6. Revisions

  • Each order includes one revision round on the mix as originally sent.
  • A new or changed mix is a new order, not a revision.
  • Additional revisions are charged at $50 per hour. Alternate versions (instrumental, clean, a cappella and so on) are $20 each.

7. Cancellations & refunds

  • Before work starts: you can cancel for a full refund.
  • After work has started but before delivery: contact us — any refund is at our discretion and reflects the work already done.
  • After delivery: no refunds. The included revision round is there to get the master right.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. By asking us to start work within that period, you agree that we begin straight away and that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully delivered. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Ownership & rights

You keep all rights in your music. We claim no ownership of your recordings or the masters we make from them. Once your order is paid in full, you may use the masters however you like. We never release, sell or share your audio with anyone outside what's needed to complete your order.

9. Credits

Once a record has been publicly released, we may list the artist name, release title and cover art on our website as a mastering credit. If you'd rather not be listed, tell us and we'll leave it off — or take it down.

10. File storage

We keep your source files and masters for 90 days after delivery, then delete them. Please download and back up your masters as soon as you receive them — we can't recover files after this period.

11. Liability

  • We carry out our work with reasonable skill and care.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost income or release delays, or for problems caused by the files we were sent.
  • Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.
  • None of this limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

12. Changes & governing law

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published when you place your order is the one that applies to it.

These terms are governed by Swedish law. If we can't resolve a disagreement together, consumers in Sweden can also contact the National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, arn.se).
